CARSWELL MENS GOLF ASSOCIATION

23 MAY 2017

Due to recent incidents of bickering by members of the association at some golf outings, myself as President of the association think it is time to put out some do’s and don’ts.

First, Doc and I have been running these tournaments for the past 25 years and know how to run them.

In addition, we have tried to get someone to take over for us and it is clear no one will. Therefore, if you run either one of us off, the tournaments will die.

So if you want to kill these tournaments, just keep bickering and griping about everything you don’t agree with.

DO:  Tell us who you want to play with:  two, three or four players

DON’T:  Tell us who you do not want to play with. You are tying our hands when you do that. It is difficult keeping up with personal conflicts. If you don’t like who we are putting you with, get your own group together before you sign in.

DON’T:  After a round, don’t come in and say: Why do I have to play with old so and so?  Get yourself someone that will play with you, and you won’t have do that.

DO:  Someone in your group is required to turn in your scorecard. We will not go looking for it. If we do not have your scorecard, then you cannot compete for prize money. The Whitestone scorecard can be left at the pro shop desk.

WEATHER PROBLEMS:  When it appears that all groups may not be able to get in 18 holes, Doc or I will tell you what we will do in case of rainout. In most cases, if the tournament is called because of weather, there will be no payout. Buy-in money can be either refunded or held as a credit for the next time you play. The exception is an ACE. If someone makes a hole-in-one, he will be paid. If there is a chance of rain, an announcement will be made when the cards are handed out. Please pay attention to the announcements.

DOC OR I ARE THE ONLY ONES THAT CAN CALL A RAINOUT. Should you decide to come in on your own and we do not call it, you will be DQed.  If we call it, we will let you know as soon as we can.

THE ABOVE WILL PERTAIN TO THE SKINS GAME AS WELL.
